Optional Sights on a Pardner 12 Guage
« on: January 01, 2013, 10:19:29 AM »
Bought a new Pardner 12 guage a while back and was wondering what are my options for adding a better set of sights instead of depending on the one front bead. I'm open to a set of front and rear sights or even some sort of red dot or low power optics. I own several Short Lane chamber adapters that let me shoot several calibers of pistol bullets in it and just want better aiming capabilities. Thanks.

I put this on two of my shotguns http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/sights/sight-parts/ramps/uni-ramp-front-sight-prod8807.aspx
Just have to drill and tap a 6-48 hole. I have just the front sight for now but have thought of adding a rear sight at some point.
I have more guns than I need, but not as many as I want.

I did go with the Hi Viz snap on fiber optic sight. It came with 4 sight tubes, red and yellow small, red and yellow large. This thing is amazing and is almost like having a red dot scope on the gun. As long as there is any kind of light this thing is shining bright. Just what these old eyes needed.

The old H&R Buck model 162 12 gauges came with a cool Lyman folding rear sight. I would think one of those with a fiber optic front sight would be pretty nice.

That is just what Ive got on my Buck Barrel but that notch (any open sight slot, actually) is getting hard for me to accommodate.
For me I think the WGRS with a 'shotgun aperture' and a Firesight front would be dandy. Maybe even a 'double bead' type setup to be able to 'stack the beads' with a front Firesight?

Wow Quick, that's some fancy stuff you've got there. Who would have thought it, as much as you are into Handi's and such that you would have some really cool sights.  ;D

Tim, If you have a chance please measure the height of that front sight.  It looks very similar to the front sight off my Sidekick which is .49" measured from the barrel contour.

Thanks,
Dan
