New Gunbelt
« on: March 01, 2013, 12:32:52 PM »
I recently bought a Gould & Goodrich holster for my new Rock Island 1911 A-1 and also G & G dual mag holder as well. Sooo, I was thinking a new leather gunbelt would be nice and that I should start saving for one. Today, while in town, I stopped in a thrift store run by the local Humane Society and as I was leaving I  noticed a rack of belts. I figured what the heck I'd look through them. As I pretty much expected they were all the usual very cheap run of the mill belts you normaly see in thrift stores.....all except one. There hung a brand new, Safariland basket weave belt. I asked how much and was told a mere $1.00! Sooooo, guess who now has a new Safariland gunbelt to go with his new holster and mag carrier? ;) Sure made a cold, damp, dreary day a bit brighter. :) I ordered the mag carrier yesterday and as soon as I get it I'll post a pic of the three together.

You did good. My gunbelts are always the heavy leather Klein tool belts but yours, and the great price you got it for makes mine look pitiful.  ;)

Nice score Spirithawk!  Isn't there an old indian adage that goes something like "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally"?   Okay maybe it isn't indian in origin but there is some truth to it.    8)

Well, I got my magazine holder in the mail so here is a pic of my whole set up. I think I did pretty good getting a Safariland competition belt new for $1.00 at a local thrift store, a Gould & Goodrich dual spare mag holder used off Ebay Buy It Now $12.00, and a Gould & Goodrich Gold Series holster new off Ebay for the winning bid of $38.00 so I've got a total of just $51.00 in all the leather. It pays to shop around. :)
