Thunder Mug OBSESSED.
« on: February 07, 2013, 03:18:53 PM »
I have been obsessed now for about 2 months with thunder mugs.  With each one I think of something else I want to try and its lots of fun. Using a bit of historical accuracy as a starting point and with the constraints of using steel I am enjoying the never ending chase for a more perfect mug. Theres much more improvements I can make. had someone tell me last month my handle was to skinny so I moved it up to 1/2" I tried 5/8" and ended up with a dog turd. Thanks.

What mug do you think looks the best?

I like this one because of the handle.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

Thanks Zulu and jeeper.  I like the big handles also but every screw up with 5/8" cost 5 bucks. I have a whole box of screw ups.  :-[

dockholidaiy> Nice looking thunder mugs ;)  The finish on your barrel (assuming its stainless) and paint on the mugs is a reflection of your craftsmanship, keep up the good work! :)  I also like the one Jeeper 1 commented on.

Zulu> I want one too ! !

Another vote for the heavier handle although I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of them.
