i got a tasco world class 10-40 x 50 target scope.i cant get the elevation to go high enough i'm running out of adjustments.the high rings aint high enough to clear the end of the scope and i put a set of weaver see through rings on it it clears but must be up to high from the barrel.any ideas on how i can fix this problem?

Try putting a shim on the bottom of the rear ring.  The thickness will depend on how bad your problem is, you might need to experiment to see what works.  I'd cut a piece from a coke can to start and go from there.

thank's ..... as of now i am 3 inches low and i'm conpletly out of elevation adjustments.i'v always thought that they had plenty of adjustments.but for some reason this scope dont..

get a base with 20 degrees of elevation already made in.

At what distance are you shooting that you are still 3" low and what firearm are you shooting?

I have been pissing around with a 10-22 for years that had the same problem. It's had 2 or 3 scopes on it in the last 15 years or so. I used to shim the scope mount with tinfoil. The 20 moa scope bases were always to high for my budget back then. The last time I put a new scope on it I just corrected the problem, which was the stock to receiver fit. It was a hogue overmold stock. I just piller bedded it and it solved the problem of the receiver sitting slightly higher than the muzzle. Seems like I used to shim the front mount to raise the front of the scope since it would shoot low. A fellow could also shim the forward portion of the receiver to get the barrel higher.
