Buffalo Arms Slip on Recoil Pad

When you install one of these Slip on Pads on a Buffalo Classic do you have to cut the stock so that it is flat or are they designed to fit a curved butt ?  ;)

I have several lace on from Buffalo Arms. They are not designed for the curved but stock but seem to work fine on them. I used a small on the buf classic and also on the target classic.
 
They tame the recoil some and add an inch to the LOP which helps me a lot.

Find something that you can cut to fill the curve and flatten at the points to sit under the slip on. Some of that blue or pink house styro (NOT the beadboard stuff!) is easy to cut & fit or even a chunk of wood that you match the curves of the buttplate so it sits good under recoil.

I've only shot the 45-120 using just a Galco slip-on with no filler in the cupped butt, it works just fine with 1700-1800fps 500+gr bullets.  ;)

Thanks, That's good to know. I've had pretty good luck getting parts for this project, except the main part. I was told a month ago a fresh shipment of H+R rifles would be here in British Columbia mid March. Now I'm hearing that Companies in the US are trying to buy back stock from any Canadian warehouses. You guy's starting another revolution down there soon ?   ;)
