As Mike said, not really all that long ago you still couldn't give the barrels away. Finding a buyer not all that easy. Most of them are "like new". I had two of them, sold the last one maybe around 10? years ago and not for a high dollar amount.
Rebirth of ammo availablity and the conversion's generated some interest in the old TC barrels, Remington's, etc that shot them though. Seems like there were two or three convfersions, Craig maybe the best known. But conversions were no give away. The dies and brass for them I would think still come at a pretty steep price. No experience how well the brass holds up.
I think you can do a little better price wise for the rimfire ammo than above, have seen Aguila for around $15 a box mailorder - at least before the madness going on right now with ammo.
Ed would know what current demand for the barrel is, with box more desireable to collectors.
http://www.edstc.com/ I preferred the 3 of each 17HMR's and 17AH's I had to the 5's rimfire and centerfire. Don't have any of the AH's anymore, but do still have 1 HMR and 2 of the 3 HM2's with a ton of ammo of both bought early when cheaper.
