If memory serves me right. (on occasion) The Gun Parts Corp. rebarreled, and restocked a number of original surplus RB actions. These guns used the later 1902 style receiver, designed for smokeless powder. GP also offered these guns in .45-70 too.
 Hope this helps.

Thw gun parts corp. 30/30 is a star rb not a conversion. Back in the 70 star made rb rifles for importers. Earler spain made there own rb rifles with an agrement from remington. The star rb from gun parts  was probley from parts/stocks and asso. bought from star in spain. I know that numrich (gun parts) made guns for sale from parts that they bought whole sale. I have one in 30/30 they also made them in 44mag. These are gun parts rifles but they might have H@R barrels  or whatever they had a lot of. They used to make lots of barrel for the rb,s but the barrel making tooling is gone. They have a lot of springfield barrels if you jackhammer the floor up, the used it for rebarb. Would you belive Nimrich was in a bar in broklin ny with one of his gunsmith partners and a guy offered up some  springfield hammers. He said he had quite a few so they went and looked. There were crates of them brand new. They used to have a store where you could buy stuff. You never knew what they might have. Now it.s  has a parts door and counter.

Star rolling block rifles

Apparently Star still makes Rolling Block carbines in .30-30 Winchester and .44 Magnum calibers.  I examined two of them (new) in a large Arizona gunshop summer of last year.  They were tight and functional, but somewhat rough in opening the action/cocking the hammer.  $500 in either caliber was the listed price.

Thanks for the replys. The one I found at a gun show this week end was in 30-30 with brass tacks decorating the stock. The rifle appears unfired, and like mentioned, is stiff opening and cocking. I oiled the action and will try to loosen it up. It has an interesting three blade rear sight. I've handled several Remingtons and imported rolling blocks, but this little Star is so much smaller and handy feeling. Again, thank you for the info.

I don,t think star is making rb.s any more. Don,t know how many they made for numrich or numrich made from parts. But i did see about 20 in the racks at there show room. All looked new they were 275$ back in the early 70,ds. They were selling stock, forarm, barrel band and butplate for 35$. The metal was as cast and the wood was inleted, sanded but not finished. How about a rb stock with agawam mass. but plate. I got a I talian action that might have been from navy arms, they did barrel work for them back in the 60,s. The ser. number is 29 marked on the upper and lower tangs. The navy arms @ pedersolie rb are not the same as origional rb.s. The barrel recever is higher up on them. There is no need to reliefe cut on the botem of the barrel to clear the breach block as the org. Plus the use standerd threads. I used a colt sharps 30 cal barrel to make a 30/40 krag. IT was a shame it screwed right up but was chambered for 30/06. On the 30/30 star rb that i have has a long free boar? throught? I could not touch the rifling with 150 and up spitzers.

Yes that is one fine looking rifle. I love the color case hardening. I think it would easily convert to 307 Win if you wanted just by using a 308 chamber reamer on  it. Anyway its nice thanks for sharing. Best of luck. POW

I read somewhere that the actions were on the soft side and had a tendency to develope head space problems. I have not owned one but would be careful with hand loads

I had heard the Navy Arms receivers were a bit soft, but hadn't heard about the Star's receiver.
