Tonight, high tide, with a full moon tide on top of that.  Hurricane force winds coming from the NE, just like during hurricane Sandy, pushing a big storm surge.  Think about all those people rebuilding their homes that got swamped.  Here it comes again.  And there will be all kinds of dummies that will be caught on the highway out in the storm that will have to be rescued.

  Been snowing here most of the day. 6 or 7 inches so far. They are saying  a total of 14 inches by morning. Glad i don't have to go anywhere in this crap.

Here in Central NH it was snowing when I got up at 5 AM. It snowed all day. it's snowing now at 5:25 PM. I would be hard pressed to find 2" of snow. Maybe tonight will be worse, the gloom and doom weathermen have already lowered there predicted amounts from 2' to 12". We would need close to 3' to equal the storm in February 1969. Not likely.

I see the news films coming in from the east coast areas and it looks like an ordinary winter day here in the traditional snow-belt areas.  In fact; Central park in NYC looked like a barely snowed-upon scene..
   
  Just FYI..THIS IS WHAT A BLIZZARD LOOKS LIKE..!
       ...below see some photos of our blizzard of  '77..taken during diging out..
     Next to bottom photo hard to see, but it shows cars under a snowed over underpass found a week or so after the storm (note 12'7" clear sign)..
    Abandoned vehicles (thousands) has to be checked for bodies:

     I remember that one ironglow. What a mess that was. My wife and i lived in a mobil home park at the time. Drifts over the tops of the trailers. Good bunch of people in there then. When it was all over we all went out and started shoveling cars out. The winds did strange things in that one. I had about 6" in my yard but the wind blew a 15 ft. drift against my neighbors trailer. It was pushing his wall in. We had a lot of fun shoveling that one out. Hope to never see one of those again.

You gotta remember, 77 was last century, this one is only 12 years old.  Is it because people are dumber, cars lower, or just too many crowded into an area.?


The weather news makes everything into a disaster.  We DO live areas where it gets cold and snows, not like Florida getting 3 feet.

worst storm in A century. Not worst storm of THE century. Here in NH the constant influx of out of staters who've never experienced much of a winter makes every storm a panic.

we only got about 1 ft here with lots of wind. not too bad really. feel bad for those who got it worse
