I bought one of these for my grandson.  I wish I had seen these before I bought Crickets for the other grandkids.  This is an amazing little rifle and I'm tempted to pick up another one just for the hell of it...  I put a few rounds though it even though the tiny stock was difficult to hold and it's certainly a good shooter and my grandson should be tickled with it...

I hope that as the kids grow up we can find adult sized stocks for these little guns.  I know Cricket sells stocks but there's nothing listed for the Rascal anywhere.

They look like kind of a neat little rifle.  Something you could hide in your cabin and just leave it there and not worry about it, or take it with you out camping.  Always should have a .22 around camp or cabin.
I think you're out of luck as far as an adult sized stock though.  Probably have to make some kind of extension for the butt.  Lot of times at gunshows there's someone there with a bucket of old stocks - maybe with some fitting and acraglass one of those could be adapted, most .22's are basically just a round tube with a barrel attached?

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up having to make a stock when replacement time comes.  If I were young and healthy enough to go backpacking again, one of these with a side folder stock would be the hot ticket for a back packing rifle.  I'm tempted to go by other one even though I don't have enough grandkids for one more...

 I'm not a big fan of Savage rimfires but when I handled a wood stocked Rascal at the local shop, I was impressed. I figured it would be an outstanding little rifle for a <10 year old kid. The peep sight, 3# weight and most importantly their wonderful accutrigger seems like it would be ideal. And for $180, I almost wanted to buy one for myself just because it was so nifty.


 The last thing you want to do to a youngster is handicap him/her with heavy rifle, a lousy trigger and sights that are hard to use. I also like the fact that the bolt cocks the gun instead of having to use a cocking knob.


 Still think my Son's CZ 452 Scout is the best youth bolt gun available, but the Rascal looks great too.
