We made another one.
« on: February 12, 2013, 06:55:05 AM »
Right place or not, the fact is- we made another one. Outside filling wifes bird feeder and three big wedges, up high, the big boys are heading NORTH. Gives me chills every time I see it. The weathermen and groundhog dont have that great a track record, but geese are rarely wrong. By now they should be about to the Missouri river, pretty close to Jeff City. The older I get, the more precious that sight becomes.

Yea, I'll be looking for them in April.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I always enjoy seeing them going over except it only means the 100 degree days are also on the way.   8) :(
There is a pond nearby in a city park that is covered with Canada geese every year going and coming and is quite a grand sight to behold.

All we get around these parts are "sea geese". You know those funny white birds that fly around in circles at the beach or hang out on the Wal Mart roof waiting for someone to throw out a few french fries.

Yep, live in most north central west MO and have noticed the geese beginning to make their way through the great Missouri River flyway.  To watch and be aware of all our wild and natural wild life as they move through the seasons is truly a wonder.  Piney Creek

On my way into work today I saw my first large flock of ducks this year, heading north.

I noticed yesterday while coming in from New Mexico several flocks of birds headed North.
It was nice to see them leaving out for Yankee land! Now if the Snow Birds will just do the same ;D
