I agree that 'backwards' safety puts me off too, though I am not as indoctrinated as many with autoloaders and their function, so 'retraining me' wouldnt be too bad. I would have to insist that my carry peice work the same if the 22 was for practice; under the real deal stress we revert to training and I want that sucker to work!
Guess I orter just stick to revolvers.........

Anyone have one? What do you think of it?

I have one and both me and my mrs love it.  Light, handy, points well and the sights are easy to see.  I've shot about 400 rounds through it without one FTF or misfire with four different brands of ammo.  We also shoot it in our suburban back yard using Colberi (sic) .22 rounds. Those are the ones with 20grain bullets with not powder.  Hardly any sound and come out at about 500 fps.  You have to jack the slide for each round, but they always feed correctly.

I got mine from Larry's in Huntsville, AL.  $299 and came with a nice Ruger brand range bag.

My wife recently looked at, handled and bought one, so, of course I got to 'check it out'. I really like it! Comes with 2  x 10rd. mags and both work equally well. Lubed lead bulk pack is too inconsistent in bullet dia. for reliability but the copper washed HV's have all been running through just fine. Even the heavy 60gr. Agulia SSS have worked.
Just today I ran Win. bulk 555's through both mags; settled myself into a modified Weaver stance and lined up the 3 dots (trying more this time for group than feel & function) and shot some pretty good 'field groups', good enough to pot a critter out in the bush for supper.
I endorse this piece as a suitable 'kit-gun' and whatever else you might might a light, user friendly semi-auto .22LR for  ;D ;D ;D , short of serious competition, of course .

I got one for my wife for valentines day. Her first gun. She really likes it but only shot about 30 rds through it so far. She is more accurate with it thtn I thought. An 8" paper plate at 25' never gets away. It has had FTF several times but on the first shot. I think she lets doesn't slap the hammer back when putting in the first bullet. I payed 280, with tax and 13 dollar back ground check.

I sure wish we'd have found one available and so reasonable, instead we found available.
May I suggest that when chambering the top round to let the side 'go' and return to battery on its own. Too often in Bullseye practice Ive seen 22 target semi-autos do this, if it is kinda eased into place it doesnt really fully seat the round and it must make for a 'dampened' impact. I had a friend who insisted on easing his in, claimed he didnt want to 'abuse' his piece, not realizing that when it cycles itself it does the full spring return every time.
Worth a shot? (pun intended  ;) )

Gander Mtn has been on the high end around here for years, but had a sale going on. The plain back was something like $329 and the dual-tone (silver anodized slide) $349; add the WI BG check, sales tax and the Gander Service Plan (if you want it) and its......more.......more than it should be, but the dollar ain't worth anything anymore, so get what ya want, while ya can, 'cause it ain't gonna get any better..... ever.
