Compound vs Takedown for weak arms

I am in my 70'e and find I can no longer draw my 40 lbs bow. Thinking of going to an adjustable compound or a take down. Try to build my arms up again. Suggestions?

If your state allows it, I would use a crossbow with a hand crank for cocking.  I use a take down recurve, but it is getting harder for me.  Maybe a compound would help.  However, it is hard to cock initially, then eases off. 

My brother switched to a crossbow when the state approved it.  He shot a 9 pointer at about 50 yards the first time he went out.

yup a compound wont do much for you. You still have the initial hard pull before it cams over. It helps with holding at full draw more then drawing it. Im with dixie-dude. If only 40 lbs is giving your problem its time to quit bow hunting or go to a crossbow with a crank.

See if your Dr. will give you TRT. You'll be able to build muscle again.

crossbow with a cocking device

with a small electric winch cocking
device, but I can't remember what
