TRIGGER SHOE

Trigger Shoe I have used trigger shoes on my revolvers, with some improved trigger control. I was thinking of trying them on my CZ Lux and Winchester 75T. I would appreciate rimfire shooters (your)  thoughts and opinions.

I have one on my Remington 541 and I love the way it feels. It makes the trigger pull feel lighter than it is, and it is light already. the 541 has a narrow squared off trigger about like the CZs that I have handled so I think you would like it.

:D Hello Rimfire Shooters,

Yep, a trigger shoe does feel good!

I have one on my Clark Custom 77/22 which already has a sweet trigger. This is about like frosting on a good cake or ice cream with a piece of peach/apple/cherrie/huckleberry etc. pie, just adds that extra touch.

They kind of remind me of the Canjar single set trigger. Same feel but without the set trigger feature.

:D Afternoon folks,

As per where to find trigger shoes, if they can't be found in any of your local shooters supply outlets then order the ACE Trigger Shoes from BROWNELLS.

Not sure what the current price is, but my guess is around $12.00 each.

If you can find a local outlet for the shoes, it is nice to to be able to try a number of different shoes on your own firearm. They are made and fit to specific arms, but others will at times fit and may give a better feel because of a longer or tighter curve - a personal thing.

Sometimes the best way is the simple way. I am fortunate to shoot at Greenes Gun Shop and Range. It is like stepping back in time. Coffee pot on and racks old trade in guns to handle. Knowing what my work bench and shelves look like...I asked "any trigger shoes ???". Out from under the counter came a box of items that looked like they should be in a museum. I dug around, tried, fitted, talked and told stories...well I got the shoes I needed, (settled on the price) but for the life of me I could not tell you type or item number. I got my trigger shoes, hope you find yours. I tried out the first rifle and it really is an improvement. Most of the boxes were marked "Tyler"....

Sounds like a store we should all have.

Probably the closest we would come, close by, would be Lolo's in Lewiston, Idaho.

It must look a lot like it did when Jack O'Conner went there. It still has a B&W photograph of the crusty Ol'coot on the wall.

Sure did enjoy his writings when I was a lot younger, but it was a bit of a shock to move to this area and find out that he was human just like the rest of us.

Lolo's is where I have bought my trigger shoes, but that is a number of years back.

Hey we all had to learn the answer sometime!

A trigger shoe is a piece of metal held to the trigger by set screws which  widens the trigger.

This shoe is usually groved and is ment to improve the narrow/slick feeling of many standard triggers.

On some firearms, the use of a trigger shoe could be dangerous, as in the case of a gun which is put into/taken out of a holster and where the shoe might be of greater width then the trigger guard. This makes it possible for the trigger to catch and possibly fire the gun at a most inopertune time.

However, if properly fit and on the right gun they can add much to the "feel" of the trigger.

Ace trigger shoes retail for almost $30.00.Brownell's doesn't list them and I'm not sure if Ace is still in busness.I found a bunch in the shop the other day,NIB.They arn't the greatest seller,most people have never heard of them.

Can't believe they are going for $30......
ACE trigger shoes were sold by Flaigs in Milvale, PA many years ago. I'm not sure if Flaig owned the ACE name, but they were the only ones I knew about that sold them. When old man Flaig died sometime around 1980, the business kept on until the 1990's, then folded. They were incorporated. I haven't seen any ACE trigger shoes for sale for many years. I had some on Varmint rifles back in the 50's and 60's when I lived in PA. I liked them. Charley Flaig was a "one man band". There are some trigger shoes being sold now in the paint ball gun business.

These would only fit if the trigger were ground to fit.
All my triggers are at least .220" in width.
