A stroll on the beach, anticipating spring...
« on: February 25, 2013, 10:14:47 AM »
In case you've wondered about the fury Lake Superior can generate:

Interesting time of year, lstening to the Tigers playing spring training...reading about the U.P.200 sled dog race and the preparations for the Copper Dog 150 race, neighbors prepping for maple syrup season, following the Fur Rondy and the Iditarod in Alaska (daughter lives in Anchorage...first-hand reports anticipated) and seeing the critters---skunks---starting to stir, sand hill cranes cruising thru...SPRING??!! All this as I fire up the Grizzly to top off the firewood in the basement ahead of a winter storm...Love It!!

Winter here hasn't been bad, but starting to drag a little.  Be nice to "summerize" the snowblower and put it away for a few months!

Worst part for me this winter is we got a bunch of fill dirt brought in and leveled off in our front yard last fall just before snow and freeze up.  Have to do the final landscaping and seeding as soon as it warms up this spring.  Been sitting here thinking about it and looking at it all winter and can't wait to get started.

In the meantime I'll just toss another stick of wood in the stove and sit back with a cup of coffee!
