NEW M27 CLASSIC 4"
« on: February 27, 2013, 01:49:54 PM »
Does anyone know if the 4" is a round butt or square butt? the catalog shows the 61/2" having
square butt grips, all they say about the 4" is wood grips the picture shows large target style
grips on the 6 1/2 " and the 4" has service grips. whats  better to have square or round?

I like square but are you talking about the frame of the grips?

I like smaller butts round,  butt firm, opps wrong post.
S&W does offer new wood grips for both and some with the conversion from round to square.   Checkout the S&W sight and there S&W store. I just purchased the new S&W N Frame combat grips and there awesome on my new S&W M58.

The 4" has a square butt with magna style (service) grips. I prefer such square grips, rather than round. If a S&W has a  round butt, I prefer to fit it with a round-to-square conversion grip, like Hogue

The frame should be square.
Now---if you are looking at one--and it makes a difference to you--the seller should not object to taking off the grips,
