dave clements did this a couple years ago. cut the barrel to 18 inch, action job custom front blade with trinimum insert. reliability package. Buddy did the custom stock and turnbul the case hardening. Posting it on another fourm where i was accused of herisy for cutting up a cowboy so i figured id post it here too.

Oh, I really, really like that....is there anyway you can upgrade the size of the photo?  I have had over half doz. 45-70's and none stuck with me except the last H&R 22 inch.  Maybe time for another and the very last 45-70 lever gun....this could be it!

Looks SSSWWWEEEEETTT!!  That is awesome Lloyd!   The 45-70CB's aren't that rare, no worries on shortening the barrel, besides, it's yours to do with what you want.  (And make everyone else want!)  DP
