I have rifles in both rounds and love them. I shoot almost no factory ammo so I never pay much attention to their ballistics tables. Over the years I have owned and loaded ammo for over 100 different calibers and have hunted big game in 8 states. All I can say for sure is that almost any rifle cartridge from 30-30 to 458 Win Mag will kill deer with proper bullet placement out to 200 yards or so. I have killed Deer, Antelope, Elk, bear, caribou and moose and the result of one well placed shot no matter what caliber I used, resulted in a dead animal (and some calibers I used all the experts say are inadequate). So pick what you like and enjoy it as it will do the job.
