Huntsman Receiver Question
« on: February 15, 2013, 05:05:56 PM »
Just picked up a nice 50 Cal Huntsman with an NS prefix receiver.  Never seen a newer Huntsman with a raised center on the inside bottom of the frame and a groove in the barrel lug to allow the two to mate up. My NT frame Huntsman does not have one.  I noticed the barrel can be fitted to a sb2 or shotgun receiver but the frame will only accept a Huntsman barrel with the grooved lug. Had hoped to add a shotgun barrel to the Huntsman frame,  but no biggie. Since this frame will not accept a rifle or shotgun barrel, I assume it can be shipped without going through an FFL?

That is a 2002 Huntsman. I have seen one like it with a great looking CCH receiver like the BC's. Thought about it a week and stopped back in to bring her home with me, but somebody beat me to it. :'(

The Sidekicks have have that as well, but with a smaller lug. I wouldn't assume that it wouldn't need to go through a FFL, even though it cannot be fitted with other barrels, it still has the NS serial number like the other 2002 rifles and shotguns. Don't see very many 2002's so you might want to call Customer Service on that one.

Can you posts some pics of the side of the receiver, they are sweet looking.

Receiver looks okay. The other one I have is a bit nicer.

Thanks for the pic, the one I seen had a lot more detail in it. It looked more like the BC receivers and was an exceptional example, IMO.
