TC Encore in 458 Lott
« on: November 20, 2012, 06:36:57 AM »
I was in a candy store today in NC and I stumbled upon a used synthetic stocked SS Encore wearing an open sighted MGM blue 458 Lott barrel.

That would be a brutal handful of recoil when the primer lit the bomb.   I wouldn't have thought MGM would have even made one... But they did.

I was more implying customer demand and not their ability to construct one.  I'm willing to bet it has a low round count.

Don't think I'll be needing one. All the T-Rex's around here are gone.

Me thinks that one of my 45-70's will handle anything I come across.  But....I wonder...just how much black stuff you could put in one of those Lotts....hmmmmmmmmmmmm! ::)

What was the length on that barrel (and info on that candy shop)?  I have a 500Nitro from SSK which is a handful... used to have a 458Win Mag from VVCG (now MGM), it was a lot of fun to shoot - it regularly cleared a bench on either side when at the local outdoor gun range.

That 458 Lott barrel was stainless and Im guessing 24-26" in length.  I t was on a complete gun in a pawnshop in Wilmington, NC.  i think this was the place...

Use Trailboss powder and it would be a fun round to shoot and would only kill on one end  :)
