hypothetical open letter

How appalling. Due to the mass carnage yesterday at the Nation Wide Series race in Daytona FL from debris and a lone tire & wheel off of those HIGH VELOCITY cars our prayers go out to the victums, that in less then 5 seconds, 15 people were injured and taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries. I feel that the Government should imedetaly do something to stop this from ever happening again. Despite a 4' tall, solid concreat safety wall and at least a 20' tall safety fence scores of innocent people are suffering today from those KILLER ASSULT RACE CARS. Maybe they should ban all race cars so this can never happen again. It has happened before and it will again I am sure. How about banning those KILLER TIRES that have no purpose what so ever but to allow these cars to travel at such high, unregulated speeds. We know that this would not stop all the accidents with injuries from ever happening again but it would make the general public feel safer in the long run. Better yet, ban all race fans from ever attending another race track. Those with season tickets would have to turn them in with no reimbersment.
SOUNDS STUPID DON'T IT.
No more so then what the government is trying to do to honest, law abiding gun owners.

Yes this is a joke, but you get where I am comming from. The government is sticking it's nose into something they would be better off leaving alone.

PS--our prayers really do go out to those injured yesterday at the race. God be with you!!!

If there were votes to be gained by demonizing auto racing, etc., the Dumycrats and Osama would be all over it.  Do not be surprised if new government regulations and regulators are proposed.

Yep long tom, the feel gooders(gooberment folk who dont wanna actually do nothing but wanna feel good about doin nothin) might very well respond to the injuries,  if its profitable that is.   :o

From what I can gather, NASCAR's popularity has a lot to do with the crashes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
