.358 HPWC in a 10-5 38 Spl
« on: February 01, 2013, 07:24:25 PM »
Bullets are bigger than the cylinder throats.  Do I have a problem?  Never reloaded for this gun before.  Do I size them smaller?  Do I ream the cylinders larger?  Or just shoot as is?  Thanks.

How can you shoot it if the bullets won't go in?

Shot em, they will swage down on the way out. If your cylinder throat is smaller than your bore you may find it best to hone out your cylinder to match your bore. Recomend Veral Smith's book if you can't get them to shot.

if the boolets in question are the typical 148gr HBWC, thats normal. The Remington swaged ones that I use measure .360 at the base and .358 at the nose. I just push them thru a Lee .358 push-thru die to make them easier to seat in the cases.

Push each one through and measure them.  Those are your throat dimensions.  I'll bet they are .356 and your bore is .355.  In that case, use a Lee push-thru sizer .356.  If the measured slugs are .357, then get a .357 sizer.   ;)
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.
