Hammer trouble
« on: March 02, 2013, 01:42:58 PM »
So this morning at the range I was having some really random issues with my pistol not firing regularly. I had just replaced the hammer spring and they weren't light hits, they were not hitting at all. So after a dry firing session I noticed that the insert in the hammer that allows it to be switched from rim to center was actually shifting out partially as the hammer fell.  I took the hammer out and pulled it out and realized that I was missing one detent ball that keeps it in. I managed to cut open a shot shell and substitute the detent ball with a #8 shot bb and saved my shooting day but there is a hole from the back of the hammer and i couldn't tell if it was threaded or not to be able to run a screw into that piece to hold it in the hammer. Checked the newbie instructions on here and that exploded view didn't show anything useful.
I hate when i miss. But when I do, I can always come up with a reason why.
