NEF/H&R schnabel forends ?

I see nef/h&r rifles with slim schnabel forends on the web, but all you see on the nef/h&r site is the plain fat forends !  Are the schnable forends available, they sure look better !

I don't know for sure? My .357 came with one but not any of my others. I like it the best thou it fit my hand well, looks purtty to. 8)

My 219 Zip ( 22 Hor) came with one I don't like it.
 Stock is real light colored (blonde) Although it has                                  a real good finish on it. Marv.

The schnabel forearm style is the older style. It has been replaced by the plain and straight forearm. You can still occasionally find a new Handi with the schnabel style forearm that has been in someones inventory for a while. Or you can look for a used set to buy or swap for on this site....<><....:grin:

i love the schnabel forearm when mounting a bipod because the arms slope upward towards the barrel giving it a sleeker look.

45-70 Buff Classic and 38-55Target Model have the 'long' walnut schnable forestock
45Colt Classic Rifle has a walnut std. length schnable FS
As mentioned, some models came with them in std length 'palletwood' (same length as the 'bullnose') in the past; I havent seen them on anything new unless NOS for a while now.

Schnable forends were the standard forend on palletwood H&R/NEF firearms at least from the early '90s thru the early 2ks, probably earlier, so there are thousands of them out there. I have a couple factory firearms with them, a '91 Pardner and a 2000 7x64 Handi.  ;)

Schnabel style forends were used on the New England Firearms brand and the straight forends were used on the Harrington & Richardson brand firearms.
