Pardner single shot questions
« on: March 07, 2013, 03:15:14 PM »
Is it possible to put sights on a Pardner single shot?

Can you shoot slugs through the full choke?

i use a snap on truglo front sight
on all mine.
you can shoot foster lead slugs
in a full. i've done it, but don't
recommend it. i don't buy sabot slugs.
i think they are more geared toward
rifled barreled guns.

I went with the HiViz snap on sights with mine. Almost like putting a reddot on it. Slugs and a full choke barrel just aren't a good combination.

I've had good luck with brenneke slugs through a full choked 410 Pardner.

So, the snap on sights stay put?  Is it hard to line them up properly?

The HiViz have a V in the end of them that centers on your bead. They fit VERY tight. I snapped mine on 1/2 inch or so below my bead and had to really work at it to slide them up to it. I haven't used other brands so I can't comment on them.

my oldest h&r topper 12g has
been with me for 25+ years.
when truglo came out with their
snap on sight, it got one then
however long ago that's been.
still carries the same one. that
being said, and pandora letting
mr. murphy out of his box, i'll
probably break it next time out
in the bush.

The fiber optic snap ons really help. Not expensive either. HiViz is as low as $11.00 with free shipping on Ebay. I paid a bit more for mine as it came with some extra sight tubes.

I really like the HiViz too, put one on my 22" 20 gauge.  Take the sight tube out before you put it on.  Get it lined up like you want and then put the sight tube in.
