Contender fore ends

I am fairly new to contenders, I have a original Contender with a super 14 barrel in 30-30 it has been factory modified to easy open. My question is, I just got a super 16 barrel in 44 Mag.(have not received yet), does the same forend work for both, or does the super 16 take a different one?

The Super 16 uses the same forend as the 21" barrels, different than the Super 14. Nice find on the Super 16 in 44 mag. I have a couple of them, one is set up in Rnynite carbine stock and really shoots nice.

Thank you Iowa Fox, this is what I needed to know. That is how I want to set this up as a carbine. I was thinking of the Choate M4 adjustable stock for my grandson as he grows.

The Choate stock would be a good choice for a younger shooter. TC also made youth stocks for the Contender which is also a good route for the younger shooters, as they grow you can replace it with the standard stock. In mine I shoot cast bullets only, mostly loaded light. The accuracy is outstanding.

I ordered an original rinite carbine stock from EA Brown, I also ordered a 2 screw carbine forend. I have the time so I will look for a youth stock or buy another full sized stock and cut it down to size. I am also going to look for carbine barrels in 22lr and 223.
