Source of forend screws for TC
« on: March 25, 2013, 05:32:40 AM »
Just sharing a little info I discovered.  The size of the forend screw on the Contender is 10x32, the size on the Encore is 8x36.  If you go to e-bay and put either of those sizes in your search, you will find those items in various lengths.  from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in length or what ever size you want or need at a very reasonable price and in larger amounts.  Hope this information is benificial to someone.  I think the company I found mine at, was called Diablo.

Or a trip to your local hardware store will get you what you need in a reasonable quantity.  And you don't have to deal with flea bay.

To a point Keith, I have yet been able to get 8/36 size at any local hardware.  10/32, yes.

I think if you do a little research you will find the Encore use's a 8X40 screw. At least thats the size I use when making forearms for Encores. They can be purchased from Brownells. The 8X36 may hold a while but being slightly undersize are probably going to fell after repeated shooting.
