How many of you guys check your traps in the morning? And how many of you guys check them when you get out of school or work?

I have alot of country to cover so I start early . and if everything goes as
planed I finish about 2 or 3 oclock unless I have to spend half the day tracking a yote that ran off with a drag . It's best to check your traps in the morning so you don't have a twist out . And it keeps jonny sneakum
off your catch.

i usually run a big line so i divide my line into 3 sections and check a differrent section every day because of the 72 hour check law here.i also make all my sets either drowning or conibear sets so i rarely have any live animals when i get there.i start checking at 5 am then work at 7 am till 3pm and then check until 9 or 10 pm i freeze eveything whole and save the skinning until a later date when things slow up.i do this with water trapping only mink,rats,beaver,otter no dryland sets :-)

Nowdays I run a short line in a populated area so I must check most traps early-sometimes too early. Many times in the past couple of seasons I have spooked fox that have'nt got caught yet. I don't like doing it that way but it's the best way to eliminate theft and people problems in my area.

up here the check times are 5am to 10pm which kinda sucks sometimes
