Goat , when I first got interested in the hornet I ordered a 77-22H when they were first introduced. It never came . After 6 months I ordered my Contender Carbine. Still want the 77 and have wanted a Handy for at least 10 years . Might get a barrel for my Handy in hornet. At some point I want all the American made hornets ( including the Savage 25 ; I got the Savage 40 about 5 years ago on a close out at Sportsman's) .

I bought a 22/22 Hornet used a couple years ago.  I can't comment on how one would be out of the box because mine has had a lot of work done to it.  It's been reamed to K-Hornet and has had trigger work.  I have no idea what all else has been done to it but it's a great shooter.  I asked at the gun shop where I bought it why someone would let such a nice rifle go for that price, and previous owner had terminal cancer and no shooting family members.   I know that when my numbers are up, my grandsons will be shooting all my guns for years to come...

I haven't gotten a Handi in Hornet yet and I'm not sure if I'm going to buy a whole rifle or send one of my frames in to be fitted for a Hornet barrel.  One thing I can say for sure is the empty space in my safe is filling up faster than I ever expected...

'Empty space' in a gun safe is an unnatural void that the Universe will fill.......
