Why does everyone think a .410 is a good youth gun? A .410 is the worst thing you can give a kid. The amount of shot is too small, and they load the little shells HOT to make up for the shells short comings. Start the kid out with a 20ga and skeet loads, (not field loads) they will be happier and so will you when they are able to hit things.
My dad gave me a .410 when I was 12. I grew to hate that gun. It kicked too hard, and it caused me to flinch. I was jerking the trigger so hard I could not hit anything. I start kids, many young girls, out shooting skeet with a youth 20ga. They all do well.
This will make a good truck gun, or a good gun for a grown woman to shoot snakes and varmints around the homestead.
