Help!!  ;D

Been  racking my head trying to find a VERY SMALL 1-inch diameter 2X, 3X, 4X or a variable ILLUMINATED rifle scope with a reticle.

Hopefully the scope would be very COMPACT and LIGHTWEIGHT.  If its a slightly larger diameter, even 30mm I would be interested.

Want it to mount on a light weight .22LR carbine,  but also on a short folding Handi in .223 or .30-30.

Most shots I anticipate would be 70-80 yards to no more than 150ish.

What kind of luck has anyone had in the 'small scope department!!??'  THANKS.  :)

  • Handi's and Henry's... a perfect partnership!
I have the perfect scope for you... I have owned a dozen of them over the years and don't be fooled by the reasonable price... they are very well made and solid. It is the Leapers Bug Buster (focuses down to 3 yards!)... it comes in 4X, 6X and 3-9X... they are all the same size and weight so I can't think of a good reason not to buy the 3-9X... use it @ 3X in the woods and still have some power for longer shots or range paper... these were built for magnum air rifles, so they can handle the recoil from ANY caliber that you would care to put it on. They are a little over 8" long and 13 ounces, they have AO and illumination and a nice little mil-dot reticle, they can look tactical if you use beefy rings but are pretty sleek and "vanilla" with slim rings and the sunshade (included). Here is one on a SKS, but I have them on classic air rifles also;

I have no problem recommending Leapers products... very good prices and I have never been disappointed in the quality.

I've got a 4x32 illuminated on a .357 handi and it's a nice compact piece.  Magnification is fine for 75 yard shots on squirrel head sized targets.  If you want to reach out further, the only downfall I've seen is it's reticle is thicker than my BSA's.  The 3-9 is available at Optics planet:

It appears they have discontinued the 4x32 that I have now.
If you can spare a bit of size increase I really like my BSA Mildot's a bit better for fine reticle size and clarity of optics, but they are longer:
