Grips for Charter Arms 38 revolver.....
« on: March 11, 2013, 05:17:00 AM »
I like my little .38 Spl Charter Arms 5 shot revolver but the factory grips are small.  Has anyone bought the rubber aftermarket grips shown in Charter's website? Pachmyrs? Looks like they would really help in gripping/holding this little 5 shot!....and do it without making it too bulky.
What think?

I have a Mag Pug that came with the rubber grips on it.  They are hand filling and comfortable, but I don't really care for rubber grips for a CC gun.  They are too "grippy", causing clothing to not slide over them, but tends to hang up everytime you stretch or bend over.

A couple of options would be to add a Tyler T-grip to your current grips, or get a set of aftermarket grips of wood or other material.  I think Altamont Grips and handgungrips both have some models to fit the Charters.  Another option is to find some factory wood Bulldog grips which used to come standard on the Bulldogs - you might check Numrich for a pair of those.

My wife has a set of the Pachmyr grips on her CA.  Makes the little beasty much easier for her to hold onto and takes some of the sting out of it.

Lots of options.  For CC might consider hip grip style smooth grips.  They do have walnut and Crimson trace also.
