Don't hang out at bars anymore. BUT, he wouldn't make a dime in tips where I use to go. Any bartender take that long bringing me a Pabst and a shot of CC wouldn't get much more than a-(Hey Buckwheat, where's my drink!!) and thats about it. gypsyman

It doesn't matter how good he is , what if his tips end up amounting to next to nothing ?
Its that sub contractor mentality that's sweeping the job market .
Its how they get away with not even paying minimum wage !
Any bar this guy works at should be paying him good money just to have him .
But that isn't how they think anymore and the public is getting pretty tight on their tips .
Denny's pays their waitresses $2.13 an hour , do the math if you have a slow week on any tips .
The business puts up a store front and you peddle your wares, no guarantee on anything .
At least on your own you have a set labor rate the customer can take it or leave it .
That's the American way not doing things by chanch for a task master .
Oh you say what's the difference ? There is a lot of difference a bar will be knocking it down with
this guy. But if this is the way they want to play anymore he should get a percentage of the profits
also . Then let Obama care kick in and see how much this guy will be making !

I agree CDQ , but doesn't that only cause more inflation then your right back where you started
from ? The answer is to enforce the labor laws you already have on the books !
If your from another country get a green card with a bar code, no more cranking out phony clones
of them on a document copier !
All they have to do this way is get one of them and start substituting names and its the same with
birth certificates also . Sure is funny that 30 Mexicans were born at the same time and the same
day in a tiny little hospital that no longer exist in El Paso Texas !
Put laser stamped bar codes on this stuff , that would stop a lot of this including fake presidential nominees .

Oh and before anyone starts defending the poor Mexican immigrant you need to know that it is a
person called a coyote doing this . Not only are they breaking the law they are no friend to these
people whatsoever ! 
And meth heads , the next time you get your stuff from Mexico . You might want to think about
where that stuff was inserted in order to get it up here .

That's pretty impressive.  The type of bar he would work in is not one that would pay their bartenders minimum wage, and it probably wouldn't carry PBR either.  I had a roomate that practiced his "flair" daily to boost his tips.  He wasn't quite as good (then) as the guy in the video, but he could draw a crowd.  Generally he made more in tips on a Fri/Sat than most working professionals would make that week.  -That was his second job, and eventutally became his first.

The minimum wage is not the biggest problem around these parts--in fact our state minimum is over $9.00.  The problem is finding workers who really want to work.  The governments--federal, state and county have gotten people hooked on benefits and very few will risk loosing those benefits by taking a job.  Those who do come in looking for a job, usually turn out to have drug, or alcohol problems and no work ethics at all.  If they have access to the cash register, they steal you blind.  Or they help themselves to products.


A really good employee is worth their weight in gold.

My boss said he wished he could give me a raise but the company will not allow it.

We are just numbers to them.

If I was paid for the work I do in comparison to other employees here I would make a lot more.

The heck with tips. He is already a celebrity. Celebs Make the rounds and are paid to be there and attract attention and min wage dudes to spend their money. If you want to make more $, do like that guy and make yourself a nitche. Or start a business then you will be one of the dudes that dont pay enough Taxes.    or sit and whine about " nobody pays me enough".
