Opinions on the 22s

I just ordered a 22lr with the intention of sending it off shortly after to add a 22mag Bbl.

Was an odd choice for me while I have 3 Handis and love them I wasn't sure about a single shot 22.

Everyone like them? Accurate??

:D , Scottsman1886, we all suffer from the same affliction. I as you have several Handis as well a a .17 HMR.   Just got in my .22 Mag Sportster last week and want a .22 LR to go along with it. What my plan might be is to order a Versa-Pak in .410 & .22 LR instead of .22 LR Sportster or a .22 LR barrel for either my .17 HMR or .22 Mag and put on an adult buttstock for now. Of course the Versa-Pak will be purchased for my 3 week old first grandchild, my lovley grandaughter Maeve. I could not really buy another gun for me right now but I think she deserves one. What the heck, when she gets old enough to use it, 4 or 5 years from now, and she goes to camp with "Grandpa" we might not even be able to buy guns!!! I had better order it quickly!!!....<><.... :grin:

I like both of mine (22lr and 22 mag).  All my other 22's stay in the safe.  And both are very accurate!

Love my Sportster in 22lr. Great little gun. I have an old Tasco red dot mounted on it, makes for a nice woods/plinking gun. Soon to go to the factory for 2 more barrels.

Side note, this past summer the club I'm a member of hosted an open house for the local little league. Had a few of the kids on the rimfire silouette (spelling?) range. They were routinely hitting rams with Remington bulk pack golden bullets. They were shooting from a bench and having a blast. Had a few of the Dads ask me about an entry level 22 and invariably the kids "recommended" the Sportster :lol:  The Dads were pleased about the low cost of them as well.

bought my 22 mag in a youth version for kids, put on a scope now i wouldent give it up for anything, will shoot groups @110 yards you cant believe!!

I finally got to the range today to shoot my first box of ammo through my new 22WMR Sportster.  I put a Swift Premier 4-12x40ao scope and Burris "high" Zee Rings on it this morning.  I was shooting Winchester Supreme 34 grain jacketed hollow point ammo at a 25 yard indoor range.  I can't say for sure, but I think there are between 8 and 10 rounds through that ragged hole.  I think I'm going to like this gun.
