My new carry piece... M605 .357 Magnum
« on: March 21, 2013, 04:48:41 PM »
Just picked it up tonight finally.  8)  Took it out and shot 10 .357 Magnum Hornady Customs with 158 gr. XTP's.  Pretty snappy and you definitely need a decent grip, but not as bad as I was prepared for.  I think it'll be just as nice as my wifes Charter Arms Pink Lady as a carry weapon.  At 17 oz. it isn't too heavy, but it is heavy enough to not be really jerky in my hands.  I got lucky and ran across the grips on another forum for $20 bucks shipped, so I like them better than the rubber boot grips it came with to begin with.  ;)

Looks good with those wood grips on it - much better than the rubber ones.

Can't tell for sure from the pic, but it looks like it is NON-ported, is that correct?  Wish they'd make more of their models without the ports.

Correct no ports.  I really like the walnut better too, course I always tend to lean to a nice wood and blued steel gun.  I don't even own any s/s guns.  lol

Nice!
I have a model 85 all titanium 38spc, but would also like a Taurus .357 snub

Gotta love that 605!  Of course mine is that flashy stainless.. but I agree the walnut on blue is a good looking gun.

Thanks, it's performing well and really no issues with anything I've tested it with.  Definitely money well spent.  ;)

Tacklebury, nice gun!  Did you pick that up at Jay's?  I just put an Ultralite .22 on layaway there.  44 Man

Sure did.  ;)  May be back up there this Saturday.  My buddy's getting back into reloading and we always like coming up to drool on stuff.  ;)
