cartridge swap for an 1894
« on: February 16, 2004, 11:53:16 AM »
Gunnut69 said on the gunsmithing topic that someone over on Marlin talk had probably done a swap that I am considering.  That being changing an 1894 in 357 to 25-20 and at the same time rechambering to 256 win mag.
Additionally  is there any possibility that I could make a longer version  from a 357 Maximum necked to 257.  Would the action handle it.  What about 257tcu through the 1894?  Whew!

I don't think I'd trust the necked down 357 Maximum conversion, but it should handle the 256 magnum just fine.
