Can you guys tell what this is?

He thinks it's a 50 cal. BP.  I asked him if it is rifled and he said yes.  He told me he would take $60 for it.  Good deal if it is a huntsman 50 cal? The reason on posted it here is because I knew they made a 12 gauge too.

12 gauge wouldn't have iron sights like that on it...I wouldn't take $60 for just the barrel of my Huntman

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.

Every gun is a 'cat in a bag', especially used. For that price Id probably buy it (and Im.....frugal), but its always good to check the lock up and look down a barrel, etc. If a muzzle loader I take my rod and patches and some WD-40; lube a snuggish fitting patch with the WD and run it slowly and carefully downbore and out, check the condition & color of the patch for rust and crud. If still OK run another one down and 'feel' for bad, snaggy spots where some rot might have got to it. On the H&R you should(?) be able to pull the breechplug fairly easy to eyeball it.
