The bullet is a Round Flat cast from an NOE mould. From the mould with air cooled wheel weight alloy it is .455 diameter. I size it .454 for my Ruger BH. At 12 BHN it is perfect for my use. The big meplat slaps hard. I don't know if it will track straight on impact but will test this & other things over the summer. It makes nice holes in the paper.

It seems like a popular design.  I have a Lyman mold that makes a very similar .358 bullet.  It's listed as a cowboy design but I have no idea why...  I haven't shot any from this mold yet so I don't know how good they are.

What yardage?   ???
Study after study has shown how dangerous distracted driving is yet people continue to talk on their cell phones while driving. Driving in the U.S. requires your full attention. Many states and countries have made it illegal to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle and the federal government should follow their lead. Banning the use of cell phones while driving would have the added benefit of making the no-texting law enforceable.

Tony it's a pretty good bullet. I have one & hoped it would come in at 158 grains but it was heavy at 165. Still a fair shooter. Here's a link to the Lyman bullet.

Yes those were cast from straight air cooled wheel weights.

Not quite the hole punch of a WC but it does cut a nice hole.

You commented that you had air cooled those boolits. Have you ever water dropped them befor? If so, did you see any difference between air cool and water drop? Thanks

Yes I've water quenched boolits. The wheel weights those are cast from will jump to 16-18 BHN depending on how hot the boolit & how cold the water when they make contact.

I started out with the Lee 425-255 RF when I got my Redhawk in 45 Colt. At the time it was all I had other than a 230gr RN mold for my ACP. With straight WW's, sized to .452 and lubed with 45/45/10, they will shoot tighter than I can hold for sure out to 50yds.

I have since picked up a couple of the MP molds and have been working hard on them when I have the time. With the hog hunting we do on such a regular basis I just had to have something with a HP and the Lyman one hole just wasn't going to cut it.

Keep up the good work. Maybe I'll get with you on some loads later on to compare. I'm taking some of the MP 270 SAA HP's out this weekend to see if they preform as well as the last ones did. Hopefully I will be able to find a cooperative hog to try one out on.

Those hollow points should really dump a hog. I don't have that mould but do cast the solid form MP.
