When I decided I wanted a replacement for my 7-08 M7 "backup" rifle I decided on the '06.  With Pete's stainless barrel, a nickled receiver and synthetic stock, I've got a go anywhere, do anything rifle!   ;D  The perfect back up gun!   ;)

One of the projects I want to finish with my list of Handi-calibers ......
 
is a Versa-Quad set up I'm doing that will shoot the 12 gauge, .22LR in a Versa Pack tube, the .223 and .30/06!  (the goal is to have a package to shoot ANYWHERE in the 48 states)
 
At the moment I don't own a .30/06 Handi, altho I have before.
 
As much as I love the .308,  (my all-time, all-around favorite .30 cal round)
the '06 is still thee most popular [hunting] round in the world!
 
And #2 in the USA in ammo sales capared to the .30-30
(if not number one in ammo sales for big game!)
