Folks,
  I know DHS purchases are one cause, but another and I think it is the main cause is "GREED" a few days ago a local sporting goods store got a small truck load of ammo shipped in. It was rolled into the store in carts like grocery buggys. There were seven men waiting who purchased the entire shipment. It never made it to the shelves. Go to sites like Gunbroker and you can find anything you want if you are willing to pay four times the normal cost of the ammo. These people are buying the ammo and reselling it. To me that is like the guy selling pizza for $10 a slice after Katrina hit. I refuse to pay $85 for a carton of .22 ammo. If everybody would refuse to buy from these sellers it would soon return to the sheves.
  A friend called a few days ago and was in a panic because he could not find 5.56 ammo. He was upset that he was paying $900 to $1,000 a case for it so he could continue to allow his kids to go shoot 500 rounds each, every weekend ! Now he could not find any. Sometimes we are our own worst enimies.

this is a new world now, folks are extremely
jealous and covetous of what other folks
have, and think of only turning a buck
regardless of consequence.
i've talked to folks locally about this, and
they all say " yeah, i had to pay 75.00 for
a bulk pack of .22 " well why ?
"i didn't think i had enough"
or you can fill in your own answer.
