Dancing partner for my Maxie's
« on: April 08, 2013, 05:12:17 PM »
Ya just never know when something will fall in yer lap!  At work today, had a customer start talking about the 357 Super Mag while he was looking at a new Ruger 44 mg. SBH.  Told him I had thought about getting a revolver to go with my 2 Handi Maxie's and he asked if I wanted to buy his.  Seems he had a Dan Wesson Model 40 with an 8" barrel, extra barrel still wrapped in the original anti rust paper, slotted shroud, original box with all papers, RCBS dies and one full and a partial box of factory Rem ammo.  (This stuff was marked $9.98 with a Buttrey's Food Store price tag on both of em, when's the last time you picked up a box of ammo with yer milk and burger??)  Deal was struck, both of us happy, I feel I got the better end, but he suggested the deal.  Just had to share (OK, gloat) with my fellow GBO Maxie owners.  DP

That's a winner Don.  I've got a .357 Blackhawk that I carry with the Maxis occasionally.  That's about all the recoil I want for these old worn out electrician's hands. :(   I have been looking for a Ruger .32-20 to go with my Handi and Marlin.  I saw a like new Ruger Butternut with two cylinders on Gun Broker a while back with a Buy it Now of 7 hundred.  I passed, and now I'm saying to my self "am I happy having a hundred or two extra in the bank and not having the revolver".  The answer is NO.  I shoulda said " Damn the torpedoes" and got it.

Have fun with it.

Pete
