I know you understand this, but I have always been amazed that many dont:

Maybe though, like me, you'll find yourself beginning to consider how to move to civilian life in the coming future.  Good EMTs are hard to find I hear.  Just wondering...

I have obligated myself to 8 more years of service via an indefinite reenlistment.  At that time I will be 46 y/o and have two kids who are 12 and 10 y/o. I may have to stay in even longer. EMT would be an entry level job, I would hope to be working in a hospital perhaps as a nurse or PA.

Thanks, Dinny
Sorry you got passed over for the promotion.  But with your great attitude, it's hard to believe you won't get the next promotion.  As far as the future, go the Nurse Practitioner route, it gives you a little more independence.  If need be, you don't have to work for a doctor, you can work for yourself.

When you allow a lie to go unchallenged, it becomes the truth.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

Dinny, my "doctor" is a lady Nurse Practitioner, Laura Frisch.  She's a saint and a miracle worker.  In my opinion, the best doctor on the staff of our local hospital.  I don't see anyone else unless Laura refers me.

There's a very interesting thing happening now with the North Korean's sabre rattling.  The military has to gear up right in the middle of a wind down.  Personally, I think we ought to do a preemptive strike, take out their nuclear and missile facilities and dare them to cross the line......but, I'm a war mongering hawk.  Sorry, didn't mean to get political, but the current situation might just expand our forces and create advancement opportunities.  Perhaps a silver lining to a war cloud.

Pete,
Someone once told me to prepare for war and pray for peace. My bags are packed. ;)

Dinny, do ya think maybe I could sneak my bags in with yours ??? ???

This is another situation where I love my country and hate our current administration.  I'd have pulled the plug on North Korea a month ago, and there wouldn't be a question about guns and who can own what, when and where.  All we've got in Washington is a bunch of slimy politicians trying to figure the best angle to get the most votes for re-election....play on mass hysteria and look like a hero.  Bankrupt the country along the way if you have to.

Tim, jerk this if you want to.  I know I'm out of order, but Dinny is a friend and only one of the many being shafted.  What makes our President think he needs to be secure with all his guns around him while he's out glad handing and smiling at folks, and we, the American People don't?  What happened to "Talk softly and carry a big stick".  Why is the greatest Nation on Earth broke??  I digress.  Sorry.

Pete, I feel your pain and believe that if such a thing were possible, the Founding Fathers would be furious and rolling in their graves. They gave us the Constitution and Bill of Rights (wisely) and the Republic, if we can keep it. Thank God for all the Patriots serving and who have served, and those who are just beginning to awaken.
Now lets all take a deep breath and go do something productive for someone else that needs to be done.

Pete,
Let me get my Nurse Practitioner first then I'll feel better about taking you with. The advanced medical training may come in handy the first day we do PT together. ;D I stay fit at home by doing push-ups with both kids on my back. Gwen is 32lbs and Freddy is 23lbs. I'm pretty weak, can only do 13 push-ups with them on board. ;)

Thanks, Dinny
