I spied someone hauling a nice shiny brass Tredegar mountain rifle across the York River bridge this morning. Who was it? Rampa?

nope wasnt me,   But i know who, i forgot his name.  That is most likely a bill anderson company cannon,   Which way was he heading  north or south, i know a few guys that went to go play in winchester this weekend. or it was bill himself. i know we was going to be bringing one of his guns down for some finishing touches at another shop as we have his shop all apart right now building his new 30x60 manufacturing building. so he can go big like steen and paulson brothers,  he is the only person i know that refuses to cut any corners and only use american made steel. he cuts all his own materials.  no pre cast hardware like almost all the other builders like cannon parts.com.  He does his research too. he goes out and finds original and i mean only real original guns to build from. not just plans from the net.   He is building my next gun now and my new prairie limber.  I cant wait.  will see if it was  him as he is spose to come by later and pick up the new lights for the barn.

He was going south and took the first exit just off the bridge. I thought it was you since I was pretty sure you mentioned having one. I live on the Rappahannock, but often go down to the Hampton Roads. PM me sometime and we'll get together.

Something interesting about the Tredegar Mountain Rifle I thought of today... Field Artillery Weapons of the Civil War claim there are 1 wrought iron and 18 bronze guns recorded as being cast. I wonder what the ratio of reproductions to originals is.

oh there are many more steel reproductions then there are bronze.  due to cost. but there are many more reproductions now then originals were ever made. they are a great gun i will be sad to see mine go in a few weeks but my new mountain howy will be fun to shoot. I am sure i will get another rifle in the future but my next one will be bronze for sure.
