Rifle was in cal. 30-06. Barrel had been cut back to 24 inches, from the factory standard of 26. Prime suspect is certainly capable of modifying it with a new or custom barrel/stock.  But with a 4 digit (collectable ?) serial number, I would expect it to remain intact.  ???  :x

It was a few years back, rickyp.  I'd have to check the records for an exact date. ...In N.W. Arkansas.  It is still entered NCIC.
