Fort Sill Artillery Museum pic heavy

New to the forum but have loved cannons for as long as I can remember. Spent some time at Fort Sill in Oklahoma last summer visiting my son who was stationed there. Got to spend some time at the Army Artillery Museum while I was there. Thought I would share some pictures with you.

Do you have any info do go along with the photos?
#1 looks like an 18th Century French cannon,
#2 probably English
# 3 Spanish?

I will try to sort through all my pics and try to find more info. I think I took pics of the info plaques. If I can I will sort through them and try to match them up. Not sure if I was thinking that well while I was there. I was pretty exited, like a kid in a candy store.

Rcat - welcome to the board!  It looks like the Museum is in much better condition than when I spent 6 months there in 1972 (OCS).  THanks for posting the pictures!

What do YOU like to shoot?

If you know your history well, the pictures in the background on the wall give hints.

What do YOU like to shoot?

 If you think the the museum is in good condition you should see the rest of the base. My son was stating in a brand new house on base, very nice. Alot of construction going on, working on all new housing.

As far as what I like to shoot, I have a 1/3 scale 10 lb Parrot barrel from South Bend Replicas.  I have it mounted on a simple sled style mount that I built when I got the barrel 15 years ago. Getting ready to build a No.1 carriage for it. That is how I found this forum, I was researching cannon carriages.

Interesting I wonder if the 6pndr with the 1796 date was captured down near New Orleans during the War of 1812.....

I never got into the museum (spent 6 months at Ft. Sill in '71. Thanks for the pics.
