Topper 158 20 Gauge (no serial numbers)
« on: May 29, 2011, 06:16:22 PM »
OK, I've been doing some online stuff trying to find out more on this Topper 158 H&R with no Serial numbers in a 20 gauge my grandfather found.  On the top of the barrel it says 20 Gaugue ~ P, then underneath that it says FULL CHOKE, otherwise, on the side it says Topper Model 158, then Harrington & Richardson, INC, then AA-US.PAT.287XXXX?  That's all I got, no other numbers anywhere.

Also, can these be disassembled?  If so how?

Thanks guys!

Phat,

Sent you a PM.  Where do I find the "Tigger job instructions?"  New to the forum sorry if this is a silly question.  Have not disassembled a Shotty before.

Thanks,

What about the barrel?  Is it the same as the trigger pins (left to right)?

Got it, it was a snap off forearm.  Barrel is off, now working on the trigger disassembly.  Thanks again guys!

Ok...Everything is disassembled and cleaned.  Now that damn big spring (not the two little ones in the trigger guard) is causing me headaches.  What's the trick, I used the link and guide, dropped in the hammer but cannot get the spring to stay, just slides around everywhere?

Also, because I oiled everything I can't get the trigger hole to line up on the trigger guard hole because of the little tiny spring.  Any tips would be great.  Again I used the link on the trigger disassembly, the assembly part is not as helpful.
