357 Max case life?
« on: April 27, 2013, 06:52:02 AM »
Hey guys, just got  my 10" Max barrel back from Mike Bellum and am starting to work up my loads.  Fortunately I had a little forethought and have been picking up brass over the past year whenever I see it, and have about 500 pieces.  I've gotten a lot of information from reading on these forums that have been very helpful.  I am curious what kind of case life you guys are getting with your max's?  I know the hotter the load the shorter the life, but what about for something thats a little shy of max, like 22-23 H110 with a 158?  Do any of you anneal your brass?  How often?  I plan to shoot it a lot and hopefully do some hunting with it, and want to get the most out of my brass.

Thanks!
Jason

If I am pushing toward the top end I get about 6 loads before the primer pocket opens up slightly.  If you keep more "nominal" you can get better than 10 loads.

I was thinking about shooting my maxes this morning but went for the mag instead.  I probably should have taken the maxes out.
357 Maximum, what the 357 Magnum was in the beginning.
