IMO they're too wide for most RF rifle's receivers.
IMHO most RF users are better off with a clip-on peep sight from Skinner, or a Williams WGRS-54.

i see your point. is abit wide even on the model 60 i intended it for. will probably try it for that once i get a proper front sight set up since i have it anyway. certainly not a great option for that nice lever action you have. thanks for the reply

Actually, that pic was just to illustrate my point - What I really mounted was a Williams WM-96, a minimal top-mounted peep.
