Apparently they think there are people out there who are nuts enough to pay those prices - not me, I have plenty to tide me over!

No they are not nuts. Read on their website and you'll see why they are the only one with ammo to sell you at this time. It clearly says they BUY and sale ammo. No doubt what they have is mostly what they've bought from folks like us or even from the scalpers.

They are just providing a service to those who care more about shooting than they do the price. Most won't pay those prices but no doubt some will.

When your primar or perhaps only business is selling guns or ammo and you can't get any to sell via the normal supply chain you have two choices: go out of business or buy from whatever source you can find and hope folks will buy at the prices that forces you to charge. Quite frankly I wonder how some companies are even staying in business when they can't get ahold of the primary items that is their business.

ROG. I don't know what brand you got but I haven't seen a $14 brick of any kind of 22s for several years now. Cheapest around here is about $45, and I aint paying it. POWDERMAN.

Winchester, lead bullets.  Same thing I have been shooting for years.  I got it at Sportsman's Warehouse.  That is what they were charging before the frenzy.

Walmart here is selling @ $25-27 a brick- in the 10 to 15 minutes after the truck arrives. Even with the 3 box limit per person none has ever made it to the shelves since January. I was at an area gun auction on saturday, they sold a dozen bricks at $70 per. I almost broke down and sold some, I could survive without it, but the grandkids would have been SOL so I didnt.

   Howdy! Yes, 22 cartridges are really high now. I remember that our drug store back home sold ammo and about 1961 or 62, you could get a box of 22short for 55 cents a box of 50. Probably even less in some places. Wonder how much ammo will cost a year from now? Always, Gene

I also bought a brick of (375 rounds) of Federal 22LR for $14.27 to be exact from Walmart.  They also had CCI "Tactical 22LR (350 round box) for $24.97.  There were 3 boxes of the Federal, and 4 boxes of CCI 22's, when I left.  I've noticed that Walmart is starting to get ammo in on a fairly regular basis, but they don't have a set delivery date.  I do know that the local Gander Mountain gets a shipment of 22's in along with other ammo on Wednesdays.  But you have to get there when the store opens up.  There is a line of people waiting to buy 22's when the store opens.  I won't wait in line for that.  They also have a wide selection of rifle ammo, but I haven't seen 223 in there for a while.

A friend of mine paid $7 for a box of 50 recently.  Right now the prices are high, I honestly feel that the prices will drop back down, but I don't think back to the pre-Newtown prices.

A Brick has 10, 50 round boxes inside it.  Making for a total of 500 rounds.  The 250, 333, and 525, boxes are bulk packs.  The cartridges are loose inside the box.  I buy the bricks for my own use, I buy bulk packs for the Boys and Grand kids.  I will take a box of 50 and put in a medicine bottle, then stick it in the fender bags on the 4-wheeler.  When it get about half way down I take another box of 50 and refill it.  If I am in a hurry and not taking the 4-wheeler I just grab a box and stick it in my pocket.  The bulk packs just seem to disappear, kids.
