I picked up a Marlin 30-30 at an auction for $200. All it says on it is "Marlin Firearms Co. North Haven Conn" Its got a 7 round mag and a pistol grip. Its in great condition. Did I get a good price? :?

Hello ranger
it looks like this spot has cooled down a bit so i thought i'd make a few posts and see if we can keep it alive and have some fun and learn from one another. I have the guide gun ported and the cowboy i've put peep sights and a hi vizz front sight, I also have a old 336 that i put a ballard type barrel cut back to the trapper lenth, the barrel would not stabilize
even jacketed bullets much less cast,
Best wishes keep your powder dry  Joe

Hello Ranger
Well it looks like this spot has cooled down so i think i'll make a post and see how it turns out, Maby we can all learn somthing,, i know i can use some help once in a while, I have the marlin guide gun( ported ) also have the cowboy modle I put a lyman peep and a hi-viz front sight on.
I have a old 336 30-30 marlin that would not stabilize a jacketed  much less a cast bullet, so i put a ballard barrel on it and cut it back to trapper lenth, then i put a lyman peep and a hi-viz front sight on it also, In case you are wandering age has made some changes so i have to adjust my life style to keep up with the changing times. In other words i'm getting old

Well Gents & ladies i'll shuter down for now and sit back and enjoy life.
best wishes to all,,, keep your powder dry  Joe
