NRA has five million members. We need that.

Public radio news has been covering the NRA annual meeting pretty hard, emphasizing falsely that there are people selling machine guns there.

The most interesting thing about this meeting is that there are five million NRA members now. Wow!

I am a life member, and like many others I think they do some crazy things. But they do support gun rights effectively and I still believe they need to be supported by anyone who favors liberty.

I became a life member by using their easy pay system, where I paid 25 dollars a quarter for about seven years. The numbers have probably changed since then but I encourage you to check it out. The alternative is anti gun maniacs running amok. I had little kids and not a lot of money at the time but it was still affordable and I am glad I did it.

Actually, There were no firearms for sale there. NO ammunition either. There was a Gatling gun on exhibition(by a auction company). On the second level there was a raffle for some guns, profits were to go to NRA. Don't know how that worked, didn't participate in it.

Yes we need the NRA. I don't like everything they do but if it were not for them the last gun grab and future grabs would occur. Some are not willing to compromise, I understand that, but get your gun and go into the street and draw a line. That's all you have left. I don't wanna compromise where the second amendment is concerned but reason requires some. I would like to see a leader like Charleston Heston again. Someone a little more charismatic.

Every gun maker known and some I didn't were there. All ammo manufacturers were there. All accessory vendors were too.  They seem to understand the need for NRA. If only for their personal interests. But they are gun owners too.

I am a  life member, also a member of TSRA, and GOA. I put my money where my mouth is.
